As the crisp air of November settles over Wrocław, a magical transformation happens.

Advent markets Wroclaw

Imagine a city steeped in a thousand years of history, where cobblestone streets and grand architecture whisper tales of kings and emperors. Welcome to Wrocław, Poland, a city that has worn many names – from the Polish “Wrocław” to the German “Breslau.”

Today, this vibrant city on the Odra River is a bustling hub of both students and tech innovation, earning it the nickname “Polish Silicon Valley.” But come November, Wrocław trades its modern buzz for the enchanting glow of its annual Christmas Market.

Program of the Wrocław Advent Fair

Jarmark Bożonarodzeniowy Wrocław, offering a variety of goods, can be found not only on the Rynka, or Main Square but also on the adjacent Świdnicka and Oławska Streets and the Salt Square, Plac Solny in Polish.

An interactive map of the Fair is available at www.pojawi.pl

One of the most interesting symbols of the Christmas market in Wrocław is the Christmas gnome. Just touch his cap three times and all your dreams may come true. But beware, this dwarf appears in the square only once a year.

Walking around the square, you will find stalls offering traditional Polish food such as pirogi and smoked cheese, but the market has more international stalls where you can get Hungarian langoustines, Dutch pancakes, paella dishes, and many other delicacies worth trying.

There will be no shortage of Christmas sweets, such as bubble waffles, Hungarian cakes, Christmas pralines, and gingerbread or Turkish honey. Traditional drinks such as mulled wine, hot apple cider, and hot chocolate are also a matter of course.

In addition to food stalls, you can also look forward to stalls with various handicrafts, jewelry, clothes, and Christmas decorations. There will also be a huge Christmas tree.

The Wroclaw Christmas Market will take place from November 29, 2024, and will last until January 7, 2025, including New Year’s Eve and Epiphany.

The Market will be open every day from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm except for:
• December 24, 2024 (Christmas Eve) – The market will be closed on this day
• December 25, 2024 (1st Day of Christmas) – The market will be closed on this day
• December 26, 2024 (2nd Day of Christmas) – on this day the Market will be open from 1:00 pm

A festive barn, where you can hide from the cold and enjoy a warm drink, can contribute to a pleasant time at the Christmas markets in Wroclaw. The Krbový dům will also be available with aromatic Wrocław mulled wine and delicious Krasnalska chocolate.

On The Plac Solny, you can admire the panorama of the Advent markets from a three-level fairy-tale house with a viewing platform and a tower with an illuminated clock.
