Advent markets Stockholm
One of the best ways to learn about a country’s Christmas traditions is to visit a local Advent market. There are several to choose from in Stockholm. The most famous place is Gamla Stan on the island of Stadsholmen, where the biggest Christmas market in Stockholm is held on this occasion.
Not far behind is the island of Djurgarden, where the royal gardens of Rosendal are dotted with craft stalls. More sporty people can skate under the open sky at the ice rink in the Kungstradgarden park.
Here, you can taste Swedish seasonal delicacies, buy beautiful handicrafts and Christmas decorations, and meet Santa.

Forty-one traditional red stalls await visitors between the iconic buildings, selling everything from ceramics to small blacksmithing and other handicrafts.
The market also offers delicious food – sausages, sweets, mulled wine, and the popular Swedish Christmas drink glögg.
