When preparing cottage cheese rolls, it’s important to follow these rules for the best results.
While recipes for cottage cheese rolls can vary, the following principles generally apply.
- When choosing cottage cheese, it’s best to avoid low-fat varieties. For the dough, use soft cottage cheese from a tub, and for the filling, use classic cubed cottage cheese.
- You can use a combination of plain and semi-coarse flour for a slightly softer texture.
- Use fine granulated sugar.
- Sift both flour, sugar, and possibly other loose ingredients before use.
- Use real butter, not its substitutes; it is advisable to melt the butter before use.
- Yeast dough must be thoroughly worked by hand or with the help of a food processor.
- Do not be afraid to add a pinch of salt to the dough, it will give it a better taste. Just be careful not to let the salt get into the yeast.
