Ingredients:

  • carp horseshoes or half-horseshoes
  • salt
  • minced garlic
  • flour
  • egg
  • breadcrumbs
  • lemon

Method:

  • Sprinkle the carp portions with lemon and let them rest for at least an hour.
  • Then salt them thoroughly and rub crushed garlic into them.
  • Cover in smooth flour, beaten egg with salt and breadcrumbs.
  • Fry in medium-heated fat for about 6 minutes on each side (depends on the thickness of the meat).
  • Finally, drain on a napkin.

Ingredients:

  • 4 carp horseshoes
  • 100 g of parsley
  • 200 g of carrots
  • 100 g of celery
  • 1 onion
  • 2 balls of allspice
  • 2 balls of black pepper
  • 100 ml of white wine
  • 60 ml of apple cider vinegar
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • salt

Method:

  • Cut the root vegetables into strips, as well as the onion.
  • Put in a pot together with approx. 600 ml of water, spices, salt, wine, vinegar and lemon and let it boil.
  • After 10 minutes of cooking, add horseshoe carp and cook for another 15 minutes.
  • We serve the carp together with vegetables.

You can also prepare a quick recipe for Christmas carp using a grill. If you have one on hand at home, give it a try. You will be surprised yourself.

Ingredients:

  • horseshoes from 1 medium-sized carp

For the marinade:

  • 50 ml of oil
  • 2 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • 4 cloves of pressed garlic
  • lemon juice
  • salt
  • ground black pepper

Method:

  • Finely chop the thyme, add pressed garlic, salt and pepper and mix with oil and lemon juice.
  • Coat each horseshoe on both sides with this mixture.
  • Leave to marinate in the cold for at least 2 hours.
  • Then grill on a hot grill for about 4 minutes on each side

Baked carp in the oven with bacon and garlic

Do you love baked carp and bacon? If you’ve never tried putting these two ingredients together, now’s your chance.

Ingredients needed:

  • 1 peeled carp (roughly 1.5 kg)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 onion
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 200 g of high-quality English bacon
  • 1 teaspoon spicy spices (whatever you like to use – goulash, oriental, barbecue, etc.)
  • 0.5 teaspoons of ground pepper (if you don’t like it, you don’t have to give it)
  • A piece of butter
  • 1 pepper (red, white, whatever you have at home)
  • Breadcrumbs

Recipe procedure:

  • Prepare a tall baking dish, grease it thoroughly with butter, sprinkle it with breadcrumbs and cover the bottom with slices of English bacon.
  • Rub the carp on both sides with crushed garlic and sprinkle with spicy spices, place in the bacon baking pan and cover the not-weak rounds with chopped onions.
  • Add 0.5 dl of oil or water, whichever suits you better. Cut 4 thin slices of butter and place on top of the onion.
  • Finally, place the pepper cut into thin strips around the carp. Bake in an oven heated to 180°-190°C for about 35 minutes.
  • If necessary, pour a little boiling water over the carp while it is baking and occasionally lift it slightly so that it does not tend to overcook.
  • As a side dish, you can serve mashed potatoes, potatoes baked in the oven with cumin, classic boiled potatoes, etc.

Christmas Eve carp on black

What do we mean by the term Christmas carp? Black carp recipe? Yes. May be!

Raw materials:

  • 1.5 kg of fresh carp
  • 750 ml of water
  • Root vegetables (carrots, celery, parsley)
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 tablespoons of vinegar
  • 250 ml of dark beer (those who don’t like it can use red wine)
  • Salt to taste
  • 60 g of grated gingerbread (you can usually buy it in the store)
  • 2 spoons of currant jam
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Sugar to taste
  • 40 g of almonds
  • 10 prunes
  • 50-60 g of raisins
  • 60-70 g of butter

Cooking process:

  • Start by rinsing the carp with vinegar and pouring it into a pot along with the trapped blood, add water, throw in the chopped vegetables and onions and let it boil.
  • A broth will form, which you strain into another pot and put back on the stove. Bring to a boil, add the carp, which you have previously divided into portions and salted.
  • Let it cook on low heat for about 15 minutes.
  • After this time, carefully remove the carp, pour beer (or wine) into the broth, sprinkle grated gingerbread, marmalade, lemon zest and juice, a little sugar and salt.
  • Chop the almonds, plums and raisins and throw them into the broth. Finally, add the butter, stir, let it boil for a minute and put back the reserved carp. Cook for a while and you’re done.
  • Let the carp prepared in this way sit in the cold for about one to two days, only then serve it warm with a dumpling or cold with a homemade Christmas cake.

Christmas fried carp in batter

Each of us prepares the classic carp in a three-pack, and we all have our favorite way to do it, but it doesn’t hurt to try fried carp in a different way.

What will you need?

  • 1 kg of fresh carp
  • 100 g semi-coarse flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons of white wine
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • Salt
  • 200 g of solidified shortening

Method:

  • Sift the flour into a bowl, add eggs, wine, oil and salt and beat everything into a medium-thick batter.
  • Divide the carp into individual portions, wash and dry thoroughly.
  • Salt each portion a little and dip it into the prepared dough.
  • Meanwhile, heat the cooking oil in a pan and add the carp covered in batter. Fry slowly on both sides until red.
  • Serve potato salad or mashed potatoes as a side dish.

Carp baked with apples and horseradish

Ingredients needed:

  • 1 kg of fresh carp
  • Salt
  • 100 g horseradish
  • 250 g of apples
  • 1 lemon
  • 60 g breadcrumbs
  • 100 g of solidified shortening

Method:

  • Cut the carp into portions, wash, salt and place in a container, then put the peeled and sliced apples mixed with the grated horseradish.
  • Drizzle it with lemon juice and put it in the fridge for 5 hours.
  • Melt the fat in a pan, remove individual portions of carp from the container, coat in breadcrumbs and bake on both sides in the pan.
  • Towards the end, add the horseradish to the pan with the apples and juice where the carp was previously pickled and let it finish cooking together.
  • Serve with boiled potatoes. Layer horseradish with apples on top of the carp on the plate.
