Besides Christmas paper cutouts, there are other ways to decorate windows for Christmas. If you want to stick with paper, you should know one more thing. Do you know which one? Paper flake! It sounds simple, but creating a beautiful snowflake is not that easy. We will advise you how to do it.

How to cut a snowflake out of paper

Snowflakes are traditionally cut out for Christmas by children in kindergartens and schools, where they decorate their windows and bulletin boards. You can certainly use the small flakes for other creations, for example, to decorate your Christmas card.

What will you need:

  • A4 size paper
  • scissors
  • pencil

Instructions:

  1. We will make a square from A4 paper.
  2. Fold the opposite corners so that we get a triangle.
  3. Place the triangle so that the fold is close to you.
  4. Fold the sharp angles together.
  5. We will have a right-angled triangle.
  6. Repeat point 4.
  7. You will get an even smaller right triangle.
  8. Now we translate its top (the right angle) to the longer side of the triangle.
  9. Cut to the same length.
  10. We will draw a snowflake motif with a pencil on our creation. Attention! The side where there is a bend must remain whole – uncut. Otherwise, it will fall apart.
  11. We cut according to the drawn motif.
  12. We unfold very carefully.
  13. Iron the resulting flake with an iron to straighten it.
  14. And it is done!

Choose a simpler theme to try. If you succeed, you can start with more complex and smaller flakes.

  • string
  • scissors
  • colored papers or dress quarters
  • possibly cotton wool (if you are going to make Santa’s clothes)
  • clothespins

Instructions:

  1. Cut out your clothes. Either pre-draw it for the children or create a template for them.
  2. Finish painting, glue, or decorate with cotton wool.
  3. Make two holes on the sides of the large quarter as shown in the picture.
  4. Thread the string through the holes and tie it to the quarter.
  5. Now you can dry your clothes!

You can improve the image with the cord by adding rods from the clothes dryer. It will also be great fun if you draw a mess under the underwear and play with the children in the wind. You then wash the clothes “as is” and let them dry again.
