3D paper poinsettia
Decorating windows is one of the most popular Christmas customs. Window decorations are light and effective, and many can be made at home.
A popular classic is white paper, which fits into any interior. Decorations made of colored paper also look great.
What you will need:
- various white or colored papers
- scissors
- ruler
- pencil
- hot glue gun
- string or ribbon for hanging
Instructions:
- Start by cutting two squares from one sheet of colored paper.
- Fold the paper in half and make a crease, if you have a ruler with a rounded edge you can use it to make the crease nice and sharp.
- Fold the paper in half again and make another fold.
- Then unfold the paper, fold it diagonally, and make a crease.
- Turn the paper over and make another fold on the opposite diagonal.
- With scissors, make a cut halfway down the center of the square on each of the four folds going through the center of the cross-shaped paper.
- Take each cut side of the paper and fold them in the center together to form a triangle. Repeat the process around all four squares within the larger square.
- Add some hot glue to one side of one of the triangle shapes. Fold the second triangle over the top of the first triangle and press down for a few seconds until the glue sets. Repeat the process with the remaining three triangles.
- Once all four triangles are glued together, you have the first side of the 3D star. Repeat the above process to create the other side of the star.
- Finally, add two small drops of glue to one of the star’s points and press the string into it. Hold the string with your hands for a few seconds until the glue sets.

Christmas Window Wreath
Christmas window decorations can embrace nature’s beauty.
Christmas wreaths don’t need to be limited to doors or tables. They can take on traditional or modern styles crafted from coniferous branches, fabric, artificial materials, or Christmas ornaments.
Adding bows or dried fruit can enhance their appeal.
What you will need:
- branches (for the wreath base)
- coniferous branches
- wire
- garden shears
Instructions:
- Make sure the branches you choose for the base are flexible. If they are too dry, they will not bend but crack.
- Once the branches are cleaned, soak them in warm water for a minute or two. Wetting the branches will help their bending.
- Place two branches side by side. Connect them together using wire.
- Once the first side is attached, bend it into a circle and attach the other side with another wire. You can carefully bend the branches if your shape is not perfectly round.
- Now it’s time to attach the conifer twigs. The first layer of branches creates a base for the next layer.
- This layer must not be perfect or beautiful; it must be firmly attached to the frame.
- The next layer is important. Find the prettiest twigs and start placing them one by one, like dominoes, around the wreath in the same direction.
- Each time you add a new branch, tie it with wire, add another one and repeat until you’ve made it all the way around.
- The tighter you overlap these twigs, the fuller the wreath will be.
Similarly, simple wreaths will create an attractive Christmas window decoration in the window, even if there are more of them. A lovely bow of different lengths can be used for hanging, and an original window decoration is in the world.

Ornamental Window Decorations
Christmas tree baubles don’t just have to hang on the tree. If you have collected many of them and don’t know which ones to decorate the tree with and which ones to leave in the box, you can use them to decorate the windows.
The way you arrange it is entirely up to you. You can follow the color of the motif or simply hang the decorations you like the most.
What you will need:
- Christmas tree baubles
- curtain rod
- bows
Method:
- Attach a curtain rod to the window (a plastic one that can be glued to the window frame will do)
- Tie the individual Christmas tree baubles with a bow.
- Attach all the ornaments to the curtain rod individually, ideally in different lengths.
- The original Christmas window decoration is ready.
You can easily combine Christmas tree baubles hung on a curtain rod with conifer twigs, which you put in a burlap-wrapped glass. This will give you original Christmas trees that you will place on the windowsill.

Glowing Christmas Window decorations
In this article, we have presented relatively less typical but original types of Christmas window decorations.
If you have a broader windowsill in your apartment, you can decorate your window with a magical lantern with an LED light chain. But you can also use candles, whether real or electric, in the lanterns, with a flashlight.
A branch behind the window decorated with lights and other Christmas decorations looks very original, for example, in the shape of stars. You can complete everything with Christmas trees cut out of paper and glued to the bottom of the window.
If you have a wider windowsill at home, you can place not only lanterns on it but also mason jars that you “fill” with Christmas lights. It’s very simple, but the effect will pleasantly surprise you.
For example, you can conjure up a winter landscape thanks to popular self-adhesive decorations that are easy to apply and don’t leave marks on the windows.
Flakes, houses, animals, snowmen, and other mysterious Christmas creatures are popular. In recent years, erasable markers on glass have also become a hit, thanks to which you can create a decoration according to your wishes.
Whatever Christmas window decoration you choose will undoubtedly reflect your taste, style, and individuality.
